A calm pre-publish checklist for YouTube uploads
Walk through title, description, chapters, end screen, and cards before you hit publish—so the extras stop getting rushed.

Before you open YouTube Studio
Confirm the final cut, captions, and thumbnail are ready. Have the working title and a one-sentence summary nearby so you are not inventing copy under time pressure.
Packaging fields
Title and description
Write a title that matches what the video actually delivers. Keep the description skimmable: first paragraph for the promise, then links and credits. Avoid stuffing keywords that do not appear in the video.
Chapters and cards
Add chapters after you have watched the cut once with a notebook. Mark natural beats—intro, demos, recap—rather than arbitrary minute marks. Place cards where a related video genuinely helps, not on every cut.
End screen and final pass
Set the end screen after the last spoken line so it does not cover important visuals. Then run a last pass: spelling on title and chapters, correct playlist, visibility setting, and scheduled time if you use one.
After you publish
Note what felt rushed. Next time, move that step earlier in the checklist so upload day stays calm.
